Diego Dominguez Receives Wade Christiansen Purple Heart Scholarship Award for 2024
Congratulations to Diego Dominguez! The Wade Christiansen Purple Heart Scholarship Fund and the Montana State University Veterans Support Center are pleased to recognize Diego as the 2024 recipient the annual scholarship award.
Diego joined the Navy at 17 years old, shipping out a month after graduating high school in Miami, Florida. Diego was deployed on the USS Harry S. Truman, maintaining helicopters in support of combat search and rescue, overwatch, and personnel transfer. Through Diego’s work, these helicopters were part of over 2,900 combat missions in Operation Enduring Freedom. Diego was deployed a second time aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in support of Operation Inherent Resolve’s maritime security operations and theater security.
Diego left the Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic, Second Class Petty Officer, and is now pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering at Montana State, entering his junior year.
The Wade Christiansen Purple Heart Scholarship Fund will continue making awards to outstanding military veterans like Diego for years to come. Please consider a one-time or ongoing donation to the project. All donations are 100 percent federally tax-deductible, and every cent goes to military personnel and military families pursuing an education at Montana State University.
